It's great to have a wide angle lens again so I can photograph nature from a different perspective than with just a 600mm lens which is what I've been used to for the past couple of months. I have a slight obsession with using long exposures, especially with water. The effect it gives off is quite magical and always adds a sense mystery to the image as if you were in a dream. This shot was taken on a stream in the middle of nowhere in the Galloway Hills which is in Scotland, the light had just about all disappeared so my shutter was getting left open for quite some time which was just what I wanted as I wasn't using any filters to block the light. You can spend hours out with your camera photographing the landscape but still only come away with a handful of images, I believe this a discipline we all share where we try to capture all the essence of the scene in that one frame.
