While Rachael and I were away in Loch Lomond I just had to go and visit the lonely tree on the east side of the loch. In my head I wanted a glorious sunset to happen behind it with the magnificent mountains towering in the background. Well, as you can see that didn't happen! But what did happen was ten times better! As we were driving to the location it started to heavily snow, the clouds came in low and visibility was beginning to thin. The tree wasn't just lonely anymore but sitting in a barren land where the loch never seemed to end. I really like the final image as I've hardly edited it. What you are seeing is pretty much straight out of the camera, a colourless world where time has stopped and only the tree remains.
